What does Christmas mean to you?

It’s December already and Christmas is nearly upon us. The shops have had Christmas trees and decorations out since, well, it would seem forever. We are madly rushing around the shops for that present or looking at our calendar thinking, “how are we going to fit in all these Christmas parties?”

For some, Christmas may mean, family times together, food, presents, fun and laughter. For others it will bring sadness, being apart from their family or friends, remembering those who have passed or even just the thought of being alone.

Christmas for me, means spending time with family and friends, but more so, remembering the birth of Jesus. The baby that was born in a stable, who was to be the Saviour of the world and to give us hope, hope for a future with Him.

So, what does Christmas mean to you?

Christmas is about the greatest gift of all Jesus, and sharing it with those we love!

‘The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. They that dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them has the light shined’. Isaiah 9:2

Sometimes I wonder if those of us who have walked in shadows are able to see the light shine all the more clearly. Part of God’s mystery, perhaps?
